Shipping methods

1.1. THE MONK provides you with the option to choose how to deliver and receive the products you have purchased. Upon completing your order, you can select your products preferred shipping method. Shipping method of products also determines your order’s final cost, according to which payment will be made. Shipping method selection will also be indicated on your order’s confirmation. 1.2. Upon finalizing your order, delivery time information will be supplied followed by an e-mail confirmation you will receive at order completion.

a) THE MONK cooperates for deliveries in Greece with ACS Courier and for deliveries in the European Union and abroad with DHL Express

b). THE MONK takes all necessary measures for the prompt and timely order delivery to the carrier, who undertakes the burden of the prompt and timely delivery to the buyer. Under no circumstances can we guarantee the exact arrival or delivery time of the order, as the responsibility lies on the cooperating courier company. THE MONK is not responsible for delays in an order’s completion (including delivery) due to circumstances that cannot be attributed to the company’s fault or external factors, especially in incidents related to the COVID–19 pandemic. If such incidents last for more than two (2) months, the contract of sale may be withdrawn by any party without compensation. If the customer considers that he/she no longer has an interest in the execution of the order, he/she is entitled to terminate the contract of sale and THE MONK is obligated to refund the price as well as any other amount paid under the contract of sale. Our company is responsible for the appropriate delivery of your order to the carrier, and from the delivery the risk is transferred to the buyer. The delivery time of the products and services sold is specified in the order and confirmed in the acceptance of the order by THE MONK, and is a maximum of ten working (10) days from the time of the sale, unless there is a special agreement between the parties confirmed in writing, by e-mail. Deliveries are completed on working days between 9:00-13:00 and the order will be sent to the indicated address.

c) Shipping costs are determined by each courier company’s pricing policy, and are solely responsible for shipping charges which may change at any time. The MONK is not responsible for any price changes.

e) The shipping cost for orders executed by DHL Express outside Greece is automatically calculated on the shopping cart page (depending on the weight of each order and the shipping address) and will be included in your order request before completion and payment. 1.3. If at the time of delivery you are not present at the destination address indicated for your package, the courier will leave you a note with instructions on how to receive your order. In this case, the risk of loss or damage to the products is transferred to the buyer taking into account the perishable nature of our products. The courier will attempt to deliver the products up to 3 times, otherwise it will remain on the premises of the courier company at your own risk and expense and under the general storage conditions of the carrier. In the event you have selected payment by cash on delivery and do not contact our customer service department via the Contact Us section to receive the product within 3 days of the failed delivery attempt to you, your order will be automatically canceled.

1.4. If you purchase our products for shipment outside Greece, you must be informed with your own diligence about the conditions and specifications required by the legislation of your country of residence, or the shipment of our products so that the products ordered from our store ensure their unobstructed course from our store to the recipient.

For the necessary specifications, the consumer-buyer must be informed by the competent authorities of the destination country of the products.

In particular, products must meet specific customs requirements, conditions and restrictions to be imported into the country of destination, such as recommendation specifications, restrictions of type, weight, dimensions, requirements of necessary accompanying documents, manuals, etc., it must be confirmed that the products you have ordered from our store satisfy and meet these specifications.

The consumer-buyer can be informed about our store products specifications by contacting us. If the products do not meet the necessary import requirements for the country of destination, the consumer-buyer must refrain from ordering, or will bear any relevant costs incurred. In particular, the consumer will be charged with any costs arising from the refusal of the authorities of the country of destination to allow entry of the products into its territory, whether it is the cost of shipping and returning the product to our online store, the cost of storage or necessary handling, additional duties or legally imposed fines due to non-compliance of the products with the legal specifications.

1.5. If we accepted an order for a specific product, which is ultimately unavailable due to the delay or inability of our supplier to provide it, or is not available for due to an unforeseeable, external, and irresistible event for more than 30 days (after Order Confirmation) our Customer Support Department will contact you immediately to address the problem. Initially, we will recommend a similar product or another brand of the same product or a product from a different category or a substitute product. If you do not agree to proceed with another purchase, you have the right of withdrawal and you will have a full and interest-free refund within thirty (30) days.1.5. 1.6 in our effort to maintain the quality and freshness of our products, we place small and frequent orders to our suppliers and do not keep large stocks in our warehouse, further reducing delivery time from supplier to consumer. Since most of our products are fresh and without preservatives, occasionally some of them, depending on environmental conditions, may lose part of their weight until they are delivered without causing any alteration in their composition or any defect of the product.

Responsibility for real defects

2.1 THE MONK is liable for actual defects and lack of agreed properties in accordance with articles 534 et seq. of the Civil Code. THE MONK will not owe any compensation or financial satisfaction due to any other cause, especially due to damage to life, health or physical integrity.
